A New Love Has Come

I looked around and for once it was gone
No longer trapped, no longer its pawn
I ran through the wind so happy and free
I whistled in the dark, as if no fear would there be

The dawn showed bright sunlight whose glory brings tears
A mind twisted with past memories of pain through the years
A new love has come and all will be well
It opened the gates and released me from hell

The sheep in a pasture a far from the wood
Sees not the grey creature whose taste finds him good
The mind is distracted by thought only well
The outcome uncertain, the future won`t tell

The beast comes yet closer his smell fills the air
The innocent gripped with sudden despair
The choice is now clear, yet late when it’s found
The prey must stay mindful of predators that abound

No matter how free and how far and away
No matter the moments, the years, or the days
The door must stay closed and the memories gone
Or find myself once again in the game as your pawn

Scott Biddulph is a published writer, author, and poet from North Georgia. As a freelance editor, he has done the layout and design of several books and magazines. He is currently working with several authors on various publication projects in which he is either ghostwriting, editing manuscripts, or doing the layout and design. Scott continues working on his memoir Twisted Ride. He also maintains a Christian blog: A Disciple's Journey. Finally, and most importantly, he is a father, grandfather, husband, and dedicated Harley Davidson rider (with a huge beard). He and his family enjoy the beauty of the North Georgia Mountains where they live—especially their screened in back porch where they love to bird watch. - "I love realism. I love writing about the raw, down-to-Earth, heartfelt realities of life. I love to write in a way that reaches into the human soul. I love to take the greatest pains and struggles in life, and make them a blessing to others. Fantasy is a wonderful, interesting thing—but real life situations, feelings, fears, and dreams are an unexplored ocean of stories that need to be told." ~Scott Biddulph~
