Are you like many writers and authors who get your email newsletter from Amazon Author Central and are too busy to give it a read? If so, you are missing new features and book promoting tools that can help you get the most out of your book promoting efforts on Goodreads and help readers find your books. Especially if you have a limited budget, and can’t hire a professional book consultant like me. So, in this article, I will share some helpful information with you. Never pass up “free” advice when you can get it!
New Feature on Goodreads with KDP
Running a giveaway on Goodreads, KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing ) authors can choose either of two giveaway packages, both offering new, powerful marketing features to help readers discover their books. To celebrate the new program, Goodreads is offering special introductory pricing of 50% off on all giveaways booked now through the end of January. And you may also visit Goodreads Giveaways.
The Power of Word of Mouth
Nothing sells books like word of mouth, and nothing gets people talking about a new book title like Goodreads Giveaways. Many Giveaways winners write reviews, building early buzz and visibility for your book. A trusted tool for authors and publishers. Many of the most prominent authors and publishers in the world have successfully used Goodreads Giveaways to drive awareness of their books.
Start by Choosing The E-Book Format
You can run a Goodreads Giveaway in either Kindle book or print book format. Give away copies of your book anytime before or after publication (our members love Advance Reader Copies!). Packages start at $119. You then choose the option that best describes you as either Publisher or Author.
If you are not either, you need to know this:
From a Goodreads blog, “Don’t see a choice that describes you? Kindle Book Giveaways are currently available to publishers and to authors who use Kindle Direct Publishing. We’re working hard to expand Giveaways to include more authors and formats. In the meantime, all authors and publishers can run print book giveaways.”
If you are a publisher, you’ll get this message:
Thanks for your interest in Kindle E-book Giveaways. There is some information we need to collect to verify your publisher account to use this product.
Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following details:
