Poetry Break: Two Poems from Anwer Ghani

By: Anwer Ghani

Near the River

You know very well the beauty of life near the river. As the morning begins its journey, the squirrel leaps cautiously through the green songs, and the flavors take on their azure veil. There, near the river, the flowers, the women, and the old farmers know amazing colors. Near the river, tender dreams wear their blue robes, and gentle whispers make a passionate cake with the smiles of early dawn. The moments are tales absent without the passion of the river, and the places are just dry deserts without its blue colors. Through its hidden secrets, we see an unforgettable memory and from its soft desires we write poems in heavenly letters.

Sea Spirit

The sea paints our world with its unique flavor, gives life its pungent taste. His soul captivates the hearts that long for it, swaying like ships that are taken by the waves. The sea is our undulating heart, and its wind is a free woman in a charming blue dress. The sea is very soft, but violent and leaves no story for the trees, but as you see; I sit behind these curtains to see the glory of the sea and melt into its undulating spirit. We know that everything has the spirit of the sea, even me, even you.
